I am Proud to Be First-Gen because …
access to college was not a reality for my parents, grandparents, and those who came before them despite their desire to further their education. They did not have the educational or financial resources but instilled in me the value and importance of an education. So I am proud to be First Gen as a fulfillment of my ancestors' dreams and as an example of the value that a college education offers.
