I am happy to speak to students about my experience as a PhD student at U of I from out of state (I'm from Texas and spent nearly a decade living and working internationally). Also, I am second generation Mexican American, and I am happy to discuss PhD-specific things both broadly and specifically to the Special Education dept in the college of Ed.
