What types of questions can First-Gens reach out to you about?
I am happy to answer lots of different kinds of questions from personal experiences to general career advice and beyond. I can also speak to being not only a first-generation but also a non-traditional student! I was young and married with children while I was in undergrad. I am the only woman in my family to hold a high school degree never mind a bachelor's degree. Those of us who are first-generation often experience a disconnect from the families and communities we hold dear. I am happy to talk about this as well.

I am Proud to Be First-Gen because …
I am proud to be a first-generation because I can say despite of all the challenges that life threw at me. I did it. I am immensely proud that I took the first steps and went back to school with two kids and then gave birth to twins in the middle of my 3rd year. None of it was easy and I often felt isolated and alone from my peers but I did it. My partners and my children cheered me on every step of the way and I am so proud of myself.
